Description: One of the symbolic hotels in town, Mediterranean Palace, located in a beautiful location next to the port, is in the process of gradual renovation per floor. The main artistic challenge was the dialogue between the two different aesthetics: the classic luxurious approach of the past and the modern aesthetic of the future. A challenge during which the two different aesthetics must be in perfect balance so that the visitor experience be as homogeneous as possible in the different areas of the hotel during the renovation process. For the corridors of the under renovation floors, photography proved to be a necessary dynamic medium. Contemporary black and white photographs with views of the city were placed to prepare the visitor their transition from the exterior to the interior space or respectively their entry into the urban environment. The geometric element of the selected images creates an almost abstract effect that transforms the space into a visually fascinating experience.
