Lindian Village, Hilton Curio Collection

One of the first things that come to mind when thinking about Rhodes Island, is the butterflies. And that was the springboard for the art narrative for Lindian Village.

The Outcome

Scope of work: Art Staging, Art Consulting & Production for Guest rooms
Status: Completed

Architecture & Interior Design: Makridis Associates

Description: The unique characteristics of each place becomes the spring board for any art expression when it comes to hospitality art programs. In this case, everything started with the ‘butterfly’, as the island’s ‘Butterfly Valley’ is an one-of-a-kind nature reserve. For the art staging phase we worked with Philippos Theodorides. For the final art program we worked closely with artist Greg Papagrigoriou who created a series of paintings of an abstract interpretation of a butterfly flutter. Aligned with the brand color palette, the artwork leaves room to different ways of being perceived; the dynamic  brushstroke brings a contemporary twist to the space, while being closely related to the island’s elements.
