Description: Having worked with Domes for a long time now, we understand how unique each design narrative is to each of the portfolio hotels. In this particular case, Novos Domes, located in Tholos area- a five minute drive from crowded Oia, is unique not only for its sculptural elements as designed by Kiros Pagkalidis Architects, but also for its pink tonalities that blend with the colours of the volcanic stone.
Our context of work was set by designer Olivia Siskou, with whom we have worked many times before and our common aesthetic makes it all even more worth it. As Conde Nast Traveller notes ‘The serene and uber-sleek interiors are by designer Olivia Siskou, (…) all enjoy a consistent aesthetic, though, in the form of elegant monochromes and neutrals – smart striped pillows and walls with hieroglyphic-style etched shapes’.
Moving on to the art narrative, for the main lobby we worked with Artemis Mouratidou to create a painting that plays with the organic forms and the colour palette of the hotel. Furthermore, we curated a series of dramatic photographs of Santorini views; not the stereotypical images of what comes to mind when Santonirini comes to mind; the angle referred to the earthy, the dramatic, the human, the timeless; the DNA of Santorini, the core of what is left from the island if we strip it off the cobble streets and the whitewashed houses.
